Robby G Photography
Robby Gallagher was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, IA. Growing up he participated in all sorts of sports, ranging from soccer to baseball to even bowling. His senior year of high school, he was the captain of the bowling team. It wasn't until his sophomore year of high school when Robby really got into photography. Through his junior and senior year, he found a passion for black and white film photography. He continued to follow that passion through his first year of college.

However, when he transfered to South Dakota State University to be closer to, his now wife, Lacee, he began his career with digital photography. While at SDSU he worked for the Collegian, SDSU's student run newspaper, as a photographer and cartoon artist. It was at the Collegian where he really began to take his photography to the next level. He really excelled in sports, being able to capture such moments as, a stiff arm that sent the defender to the ground, basketball players scrambling for the ball, and even an award winning photo of a defender grabbing the face mask of his opponent. His images have also been featured in the Sioux Falls Argus Leader (SD), the Brookings Register (SD), Springfield News-Leader (MO), Fargo Forum (ND), and the Grand Rapids Press (MI).

Robby didn't just want to excel in one area of photography. He wanted to round himself out, he wanted to get a bit of everything. So in the summer of 2010 he began his internship in Brainerd, MN at BlackLine Photo. Under the guidance of Jon Arenz, Robby was able to learn the finer points of lighting, shooting senior portraits, weddings, and children as well. After completing his internship and heading back to school, Robby married his high school sweetheart, Lacee, a pharmacy major at SDSU.

Robby has a very light, easy going personality and is eager to please. He treats clients with respect and as if they were his own friends. He is very dedicated to photography, will do whatever it takes to capture that image, and will always strive to do better.
